The Radisson Hotel has a unique rose garden. One of the oldest and biggest in Dublin.
The gardener was out of town for a fall break and when he returned he saw, the beloved Princess Diana rose tree broke in the wind. I painted those flowers just to say ‘Goodbye’ to the plant.
This painting is an Alla Prima style painting which means I painted it in one sitting.
I made at least 15 little sketches beforehand. I wanted to use brave, fat, confident brushstrokes on this painting. So, I practiced my lines and brushstrokes previously. I’ve had a clear design on my mind even before I started it.
This painting is about FREEDOM and FLUIDITY. Can you feel it?
